In 2008, Koshi River caused heavy devastation in Bihar, 23 lakh people were affected in that flood. This river originates from the Himalayas in Nepal and enters Bihar through Bhim Nagar. This river has expanded by 120 km in the last 250 years.
Gandak
Among the rivers coming from Nepal, Gandak and Budhi Gandak are the main rivers. After rain, many districts of Bihar are affected by their floods. These districts include many areas of West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali and Saran districts.
Bagmati
The Bagmati river, which originates from Nepal, is the main cause of floods in many districts of North Bihar. These may include Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Madhubani and many other districts. The total length of this river in Bihar is 394 km. Its tributaries are Vishnumati, Lakhandei, Lalbakeya, Chaknaha, Jamune, Sipridhar, Chhoti Bagmati and Kola river.
Gomti
Let us tell you that Gomti is a major river flowing in Uttar Pradesh. It originates from Fulhar lake near Madhotanda tehsil of Pilibhit district. Narmada
The overflowing water of Narmada river causes devastation in many areas of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat every year. It is the third longest river flowing inside India after Godavari river and Krishna river. Due to its huge contribution in Madhya Pradesh, it is called the National Highway of India. Godavari
The Godavari river flows through Maharashtra, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and meets the Bay of Bengal near Rajmundri city. Its main tributaries are Pranahita, Indravati and Manjira. During the rainy season, the water level of Godavari also increases and due to this many districts including East Godavari and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh and Nashik of Maharashtra are affected.

The Ganga river is called the lifeline of North India. Ganga is the most important river of India. It covers a total distance of 2525 kilometers in India and Bangladesh.
